Wellness Coordinator

Description:

The dedicated, onsite wellness coordinator is responsible for continuous coordination, education and promotion of the FMH (Frederick Memorial Hospital) wellness program. The wellness coordinator will generate enthusiasm and excitement about the wellness program and encourage employees to participate in the wellness program and related events. Promotional activities include, but are not limited to, program orientations, new hire orientations, promotional and informational booths, promotion of upcoming onsite events, activities and challenges, as well as, promotion of all health and wellness services that are available through FMH’s internal resources, benefit providers and community resources. The wellness coordinator will work collaboratively with all members of the FMH wellness committee to ensure a complete understanding of the program strategy and promotion needs. The job requires an average of 40 hours per week.  Hours may vary week to week according to special events and FMH’s needs.  Weekend, evening, night and day hours may be required.

This position reports to the VP, Customer Solutions

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts employee orientations to educate prospective participants about the wellness program
  • Staffs program information and education booths to inform employees and program participants about upcoming events and available resources
  • Customize program communications from UMR (wellness vendor) to ensure it is applicable to the population
  • Attends/coordinates wellness committee meetings to share program strategy and program offerings
  • Engages employees within the worksite setting to drive awareness and enrollment into FMH’s health and wellness programs
  • Coordinates promotion/referral of employees to health events, health challenges, screenings, educational, seminars, personal health assessments, in person or telephonic coaching/disease management
  • Coordinates with on-site Disease Management Coach (FMH employee) and BHS on-site wellness coach to ensure their coaching clients are marked as compliant
  • Collaborates with FMH’s internal resources and the wellness center to understand current programs and initiatives and supplement or assist in their promotional efforts
  • Creates a strategic promotion campaign in support of wellness program initiatives making use of resources and materials provided by FMH or UMR
  • Responds to questions regarding the wellness program and directs to the most appropriate resource. This includes handling phone and in person calls/questions from participants regarding the program.
  • Responsible for tracking employee participation in events/challenges and entering data to be sent to UMR (wellness vendor)
  • Evaluates promotion strategies to develop best practices for communication
  • Acts as liaison between UMR (wellness vendor) and FMH. Attend weekly meetings with UMR to ensure issues/concerns are being handled correctly
  • Additional promotion activities as needed
  • Responsible for writing content, planning, coordinating and managing logistics for large events:
  • On-site biometrics
  • Benefit and Wellness Fair
  • Responsible for finding guest speakers or providers for seminars and other presentations as needed

Job type: Full-time

Required education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a Health and Wellness Promotion, Business, Marketing or related field.

Required experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role. Public speaking experience preferred
